Tablets are one of the great star products of Samsung, which is one of the brands that has invested the most in them. This experience has led them to design and market tablets with specifications that practically resemble smartphones, only in a larger size. Today we show you the characteristics of its latest models, in which Samsung has put the rest, as they say colloquially. They are the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, S9+ and S9 Ultra.

If you are a regular follower of Samsung, you will know that the brand usually includes a standard product, a plus and an ultra in each of its ranges. Typically, the Ultra is the most complete model, and the standard is the cheapest. In this comparison, we are going to give you the keys you need to know to decide if it is worth betting on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, or, on the contrary, the S9 comfortably covers your needs.

Before starting, let us tell you that, of each of the tablets, in turn, there are two versions, the WiFi version and the 5G version. The difference between the two is in device connectivity, although, from our point of view, it is not a substantial difference. However, other aspects are, such as screen size, screen resolution or storage capacity. These are some of the most important changes between the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, S9+ and S9 Ultra tablets. However, as you can imagine, they share numerous similarities, such as screen technology, the degree of resistance or the incorporation of the S-Pen.

So that you can have all the complete information, we are going to analyze, in detail, the characteristics of the three tablets in this Samsung S9 range. Let’s go there!

Size does matter

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra vs S9+ vs S9

Only sometimes, and, in this case, it is one of the main differences between the three Samsung tablets. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 is the smallest of the three, with an 11-inch screen, more similar to most competing tablets. The S9+ increases its size a little to 12.4 inches, while the S9 Ultra goes up to 14.6″, a size that many laptops have. Consequently, it is also the heaviest of the three. Because of this, The S9 Ultra is a good option for those who use the tablet to work or as a complement to the computer. Being larger, it allows you to view more data. However, in terms of portability, the S9 or S9+ are easier to transport, which are lighter.

Continuing with the screen, the resolution is also one of the differences between them. A growing trend continues, although in all three cases we find a resolution that has nothing to envy of that of iPads. And, in terms of screen technology, all three tablets are Dynamic AMOLED 2X, being compatible with HDR10+ image formats. Likewise, this type of screen plays videos more fluently because it has a higher refresh rate.

Same processor and operating system

If the screen is the most important external element, the processor is the internal element that defines the performance of the tablet. It is, we could say, the brain of the device. But, in this case, we do not find differences between the three Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, since all of them incorporate the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, a chip that Samsung repeats after including it in the Galaxy S23 smartphone and in the successive Flip Z. This The processor is based on the Android 13 operating system, so there are no big differences to comment on in this regard.

Yes, we stop by commenting on the variations that exist in terms of storage capacity and internal memory. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 and S9+ have a capacity of 8 or 12 GB of RAM, while the S9 Ultra varies between 12 and 16 GB. As for internal storage, the S9 can store 128 or 256 GB, compared to the 256/512 GB that the S9+ and Ultra can store. Of course, all three allow the incorporation of a microSD card of up to 1 TB if necessary.

Double front camera, the great asset of the Ultra tabletSamsung Galaxy Tab S9 vs Tab S9+ vs S9 Ultra

We recognize that Samsung has surprised us a lot when it comes to cameras, especially in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. In this tablet, we see two front cameras, both 12 MP, when it is usual to see only one selfie camera, as in the S9 and S9+. The quality and sharpness of the selfies is much better, and, above all, it is very useful if you have corporate video calls (another reason why the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is ideal for professional environments).

As for the rear cameras, we see that there is a 13 MP one on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, while the S9+ and Ultra versions complement it with a second 8 MP camera.

The battery increases its capacity

As expected, the battery capacity goes from less to more in the three Samsung tablets. The Galaxy Tab S9 has an 8400 mAh battery, which goes up to 10,090 mAh in the Tab S9+, and 11,200 mAh in the S9 Ultra. From a practical point of view, we do notice that the S9+ and Ultra have more autonomy when playing videos than the S9, although we cannot say that it is a huge difference.

Sensors, connectivity and resistance

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 vs S9+ VS S9 Ultra

Finally, we must recognize that there are no differences when it comes to connectivity, sensors or the degree of resistance. The three Samsung tablets are compatible with Bluetooth version 5.3, as well as WiFi 6. As for the sensors, we find the same ones in all of them: fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, accelerometer, geomagnetic, hall and RGB light. However, they do not have compatibility with NFC technology, although we really can’t imagine paying with a tablet.

We do want to highlight a very positive feature, and that is that the S9 series is the first Samsung Galaxy Tab that certifies an IP68 resistance level. That is, the tablets have the maximum possible resistance to both water and dust. Likewise, this resistance also extends to the S-Pen.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 vs S9+ vs S9 Ultra: Which tablet is more worth it?

Again, the answer to this question is very subjective and depends on what your preferences and budget limitations are. It is no secret that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is the most expensive model, but also the most complete of the three. However, as we have advanced throughout the article, it is a tablet that we would only recommend to those who use it as a work tool.

In that case, it is very worth it; first, because it is larger and more comfortable for viewing data; and, also, because its double front camera makes video calls with clients of better quality. Likewise, it is the one with the most battery capacity, perfect for all-day use.

Now, if you are going to use the tablet for more domestic use, perhaps the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 or S9+ are better value for money. Among them, the S9+ has the largest screen and the best resolution, although we must recognize that its price is more similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra than that of the S9. Therefore, if you are going to use it personally and you do not need the double front camera or such a large screen, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 is cheaper and meets your needs perfectly. But, as we always tell you, the last word is yours.
