Beats wireless headphones have undergone a great evolution from their beginnings until now. The addition of Beats as an Apple brand has elevated the positioning of this brand, and has made users increasingly interested in its models. In this article, we compare two of the most sophisticated wireless earbuds you have: Beats Fit Pro vs Beats Studio Buds Plus.

The design difference between both models is evident. The Beats Fit Pro have adjustment fins whose purpose is to stabilize the grip, especially when we play sports or more sudden movements. For their part, the Beats Studio Buds Plus have a more sophisticated aesthetic, without fins, but with a thicker bulb. In addition, this model has 4 sizes of pads to choose from, compared to the 3 that the Fit Pro have.

Beyond aesthetics, are there differences between them? Yes, although there are more similarities that we have identified. One of the differences has to do with the autonomy provided by the charging case, which is higher in the Beats Studio Buds Plus. Also, there is a slight difference regarding spatial audio. Although both are compatible with this functionality, the Beats Fit Pro can dynamically track head movement, because they include Apple’s H1 chip.

But, so that you can be clearer about all their differences, we encourage you to read our complete review. Go for it!

A sportier design versus a more premium one

Beats Fit Pro vs Beats Studio Buds Plus

The aesthetics of any device are always the first thing we notice and, unconsciously, it creates a first impression that is important. And, in this case, the difference is clear. The Beats Fit Pro have a sportier design thanks to the presence of a fin which, according to Beats, improves the internal support of the headset in the ear. In particular, I haven’t gotten used to this fin, but I recognize that it is more comfortable for those who practice high-movement sports, such as athletics. Additionally, they are available in a wider variety of colors.

On the other hand, the Beats Studio Buds Plus are headphones without fins, with a more bulky shape in the center, but with a more elegant and sophisticated design. Another important aspect in this sense is that the Beats Studio Buds Plus have 4 eartip sizes that you can choose from, while the Beats Fit Pro have 3. However, only the Beats Fit Pro have the Ear Fit Tip Test, a test that you can do through the app to check which of the sizes fits your ear best.

Only one has Apple software

Of the two models we have chosen, only the Beats Fit Pro have Apple’s H1 chip. This means, therefore, that only these integrate some of the functionalities of this software. One of them, as we have mentioned, is the pad size test, but it is not the only one. Later we will talk about the customization of spatial audio, which is another of the features provided by this processor. This chip also allows you to use functions such as audio sharing or the “Hey, Siri” function, classic on iPhones.

Active noise cancellation and ambient mode in both

Beats Studio Buds Plus vs Fit Pro

One of the similarities between the two Beats wireless headphones is that they both have dual modes of active noise cancellation and transparency. That is, you can decide whether to completely isolate yourself from outside noise, or leave it as background noise while listening to music. To be honest, the two models are quite equal when it comes to quality when applying these functions, but perhaps we would say that the Beats Fit Pro have better performance when it comes to reducing more serious ambient noise.

Spatial audio, and something else?

Both the Beats Fit Pro and Studio Buds Plus support spatial audio, a technology that makes sound much more immersive overall, making you feel part of what you hear. However, the Beats Fit Pro have a small advantage over the Studio Buds Plus, and that is that they combine spatial audio with dynamic head tracking. That is, it uses a set of sensors to adjust the sound depending on which way you turn your head. This makes the multisensory experience much more intense.

Are there changes in autonomy?

The maximum battery life of wireless headphones is another relevant decision aspect. The autonomy offered by the headphones themselves is similar in both cases, about 6 hours with ANC activated, and around 9 hours without ANC. The difference lies in the extra autonomy provided by the charging case. The Beats Fit Pro case offers an additional 18 hours of battery life, while the Beats Studio Buds Plus case amounts to up to 27 hours.

This is a theoretical number, because it is usually somewhat smaller. However, it allows us to get a pretty good idea about which case provides the most extra energy. Of course, both have the fast charging option, with which, in 5 minutes, we have 1 hour of autonomy.

Compatible with iOS and Android

Beats Fit Pro vs Studio Buds Plus

One of the advantages that Beats headphones offer compared to AirPods is that they are compatible with iOS and Android devices. That is, they are much more flexible. It is true that not all the functionalities can be executed when synchronizing them with an Android, but they are not completely closed to this versatility either.

Touch controls and voice assistant

In addition to the similarities that we have already mentioned, let us tell you that the two Beats wireless headphones that we have analyzed are operated by touch. That is, with one or several taps, you can answer or hang up calls, skip forward or backward the song, or switch between ambient mode and active noise cancellation mode. On the other hand, in both it is possible to talk and connect with the voice assistant, because they have an integrated microphone for this.

Which Beats wireless headphones would we choose?

At this point, we only have to decide which of the two models best suits our needs. In general terms, the advantages of the Beats Fit Pro derive from the presence of Apple’s H1 processor, which gives it certain additional functionalities that we do not find in the Beats Studio Buds Plus. However, when it comes to sound quality, both are very evenly matched.

In fact, one of the differences that seems most decisive to us in this case is the presence of the fin, something that can be very useful to people who use wireless headphones while doing sports. On the other hand , the additional features of the Beats Fit Pro translate into a higher price. If you can afford it and you think you will get the most out of those features, the Beats Fit Pro are a sure hit.

On the other hand, if you are not comfortable with the fin or you do not consider that the extra points of these headphones are going to be important to you, the Beats Studio Buds Plus are a cheaper option and with the same sound quality. From here, think about what your fundamental needs are and decide which model best meets them.
