Wireless headphones are one of the electronic devices that has had the most popularity in recent years, and they are the perfect company every time we leave the house. But, could you say which are the most relevant characteristics when choosing which model to choose? In this article, we compare three of the most advanced wireless headphones from Jabra, one of the leading brands in the industry. Specifically, the Jabra Elite 10 vs 8 vs 7 Pro.

Just looking at the name of the models, Elite, we tend to think that we are looking at high-end wireless headphones. Well, as a summary, we will tell you that, partly yes, and partly no. They are not the most technological headphones you will find, but they are not the most expensive either, and all three are characterized by a good quality-price ratio. Now, there are some differences to take into account.

All three models have active noise cancellation, although this is more advanced in the Jabra Elite 10 and 8 (we will tell you why later). Likewise, the Jabra Elite 7 Pro does not have spatial audio, and the Jabra Elite 10 are the only ones that complement spatial audio with dynamic head tracking. On the other hand, the 10 and 7 Pro models have the IP57 resistance level, which the Jabra Elite 8 raises to the IP68 level. That is, they are the most resistant to both water and dust.

Of course, there are not only differences between the three headphones; We also found some similarities. Therefore, it is interesting to know what we should look for to know which of the three is most worth it. Let’s find out!

Design: some subtle differences

Jabra Elite 10 vs Elite 8 vs Elite 7 Pro

We cannot say that the three Jabra headphones are very different, because they have a fairly similar design to each other. In fact, both the dimensions and the weight are very similar. However, there is one small detail that, for us, makes an important difference.

The ear pads on the Jabra Elite 10 do not have the typical round shape that those on the Elite 8 and 7 Pro have, but rather have an uneven shape in which the oval is higher on one side than the other. This makes the in-ear fit much more comfortable and natural, and has convinced us more (although it is fair to say that the Jabra Elite 8 has brutal adjustability). Additionally, there are 4 eartip sizes, compared to the 3 sizes of the other two.

If we look at the charging case, we see that the cases of the Jabra Elite 10 and 8 are practically the same, but the case of the 7 Pro has a slightly different shape.

In reality, it is somewhat lower, but a little more elongated and symmetrical at the opening. Additionally, this case has the USB slot on the front, unlike the other two. On the other hand, each of the wireless headphones can be purchased in different colors.

Active noise cancellation, an important difference

One of the main differences between Jabra’s three wireless earbuds is active noise cancellation. Although it is present in all three, it is not the same. In fact, the noise cancellation of the Jabra Elite 7 Pro can be greatly improved. For their part, models 8 and 10 have what Jabra calls hybrid and Advanced ANC respectively; which is basically improved functionality. And, actually, it shows.

If we get more sophisticated, the Jabra Elite 10 are one level above, because they have larger speakers, and that means they can isolate outside noises more easily. On the other hand, all three models have HearThrough functionality, which is Jabra’s way of calling what we commonly know as ambient mode. Come on, if you want to listen to the light ambient sound in the background, you can do it.

Spatial audio, only on the most advanced headphones

Jabra Elite 10 vs 8 vs 7 Pro

In addition to noise cancellation and HearThrough mode, users often look to see if the headphones have spatial audio. It is a functionality that makes us listen to the sound in a more enveloping way, and not so focused on the ears. The Jabra Elite 7 Pro does not have this option, which we do find in its two rivals.

However, there is another feature that only the Jabra Elite 10 has, and that is dynamic head tracking. That is, the possibility that spatial audio maintains the same three-dimensional sensation no matter where you turn your head.

What are the strongest Jabra wireless headphones?

Surprisingly, the Jabra Elite 8. And we talk about surprise because logic tells us that they should be the Elite 10, which are the most advanced in the range, but that is not the case. The 10 and 7 Pro models are IP57 certified, while the Jabra Elite 8 are IP68 certified. The IP rating measures the tolerance of electronic devices to dust and water, with IP68 being the highest rating. In fact, the Jabra Elite 8 are also resistant to salt water, something that is not very common.

Connectivity: almost everything is the same

Jabra Elite 7 Pro vs 8 vs 10

We talk, now, about the differences and similarities in the connectivity section. All three headphones are Bluetooth compatible, with versions 5.2 (7 Pro) and 5.3 (8 and 10). Likewise, they have a maximum range radius of 10 meters, this does not vary in any of the three. However, the Jabra Elite 7 Pro can pair with up to 8 devices, while the Jabra Elite 10 and 8 can pair with a maximum of 10.

Of course, all three headphones have multipoint connectivity, which means that they can be synchronized with different types of devices, such as computers, smartphones or tablets. However, this functionality may be limited differently depending on each version of the devices. Likewise, all three incorporate voice assistants.

Which Jabra wireless headphones do we choose?

Now that we have analyzed the differences and similarities between the three models, it is time to choose. As we always tell you, the best choice will depend on what your preferences are. Being objective , the Jabra Elite 10 are the most complete of the three. And, compared to other models and brands, they are not the most expensive, but they represent a higher investment than the Jabra Elite 8 and 7 Pro.

The differences that exist seem quite important to us, because they have to do with the quality of active audio cancellation and the general quality of the sound. Plus, dynamic head tracking is always a plus.

Between the Jabra Elite 8 and 7 Pro, our recommendation would be to opt for the Elite 8, because, for the same price, they have more resistance, better noise cancellation and spatial audio. In fact, they seem to us to be one of the wireless headphones with a more interesting quality-price ratio considering that they are not so different from the Jabra Elite 10. But, as we always tell you, only you have the last word.
