There is no party worth its salt without a speaker to match it, and JBL knows it! For this reason, it has a specific range of speakers for parties, the JBL PartyBox range. In this article, we have compared three speakers from this range to check if there are really improvements from one to the other, and to know which one is most worth buying. Specifically, we analyze the JBL PartyBox 710, 310 and 110.

At first glance it is quite easy to detect that the JBL PartyBox 710 is louder than its two rivals, which tells us that it will probably have more sound power. And, if you want to transport it, it is equipped with a handle and wheels, which we also see on the JBL PartyBox 310, but which the PartyBox 110 does not have. Another of the most important differences is that the PartyBox 310 and 110 have an integrated battery that allows wireless playback. On the other hand, the PartyBox 710 can only be used by plugging it into the electrical outlet.

One of the similarities between the three speakers is that they all have what the brand calls a “light show”, although we must admit that the PartyBox 710 is more impressive in this sense. Likewise, all have the IPX4 water resistance level, which indicates a medium tolerance to splashes. That is, you can have it relatively close to a pool, although we advise you to keep a safe distance. And, as for the type of inputs they have, in all three cases it is possible to connect a microphone and a guitar interchangeably.

Height, the most visible difference

JBL PartyBox 110 vs 310 vs 710

At first glance, it is clear that the JBL PartyBox 710 is significantly taller than the other two models. This difference in size makes us suspect that it will also be more powerful, although we will talk about that below. At first glance, it seems more difficult to transport, because its weight is around 28 kilos. To facilitate this task, this speaker incorporates a handle and wheels that simplify its portability. The JBL PartyBox 310 also has these two transport elements, but the JBL PartyBox 110 does not.

On the other hand, all three speakers have JBL’s “light show”, which is a dynamic lighting system with multi-color lighting effects that can be customized. Even so, the light effects of the JBL PartyBox 710 are more impressive, because it combines more different shapes. In addition, you can synchronize the lights with the rhythm of the music.

Does more size mean more power?

Definitely yes. The JBL PartyBox 710 has an output power of 800 watts, far from the 240 and 160 watts that the PartyBox 310 and 110 have, respectively. In fact, sound power is the main strength of the JBL PartyBox 710, and it is really awesome. To achieve this power, this speaker includes 2 woofers and 2 larger tweeters than its two little brothers have. Likewise, it is capable of reproducing lower frequencies than the PartyBox 310 and 110, which also contributes to a feeling of higher sound quality.

Not all are wireless

Another important difference to note is that, of the three speakers, only two include a battery that allows them to operate wirelessly. And, curiously, they are the two apparently simplest, the JBL PartyBox 310 and 110. These two speakers include a battery with which they can play music for 18 hours in the case of the 310, and 12 hours in the 110. To increase durability , they can also plug the cable, 2 meters long, into the power. For its part, the JBL PartyBox 710 can only work in this way, since it does not have the battery included.

Same water resistance

All three JBL speakers are IPX4 certified, which means they have a medium level of resistance to splashes of water. Does this mean they are waterproof? No. It simply tells us that we can plug them in so that they are relatively close to a pool, for example, since, if they receive a splash, they will not be damaged. Now, we recommend not playing with fire.

How many entries do they have?

If we turn the speakers, we see that, on the back, they have several inputs to connect different devices. And, in this sense, there are no big differences. All have inputs for microphones and/or guitars, as well as a USB input and an auxiliary input for a 3.5 mm jack.JBL PartyBox 310 vs 710 vs110

To be more detailed, the JBL PartyBox 110 has an input for the microphone and another for the guitar that are differentiated. On the other hand, the PartyBox 710 and 310 have one input for the microphone, and another where you can connect both the microphone and the guitar. That is, in these two models you can connect two microphones at the same time.

Pairing and Bluetooth

Another similarity that the three speakers share is that they are compatible with Bluetooth version 5.1, and have an approximate range of 10 meters. In addition, it is possible to pair two speakers in all cases thanks to True Wireless (TWS) technology, which allows the sound to be amplified and cover a larger space. On the other hand, the configuration of the three speakers can be customized through the JBL PartyBox app. For example, through your mobile you can adjust the light pattern, change the colors or manage music playback.

Which JBL speaker do we choose?

We reach the end of the review with several conclusions, although without a completely clear decision. On the one hand, it is logical that the JBL PartyBox 710 has the highest price, because the sound power is almost triple that of the PartyBox 310. And, in the end, it is the most important aspect when we choose a speaker.

The main problem with this model is that it is not exactly easy to transport. Yes, the wheels and the handle make this job easier, but they are almost 30 kilos. Therefore, if you travel frequently and often carry the speaker, the JBL PartyBox 310 is probably the best option, since the 110, although lighter, does not have wheels or a handle.

Let’s say that the JBL PartyBox 310 is a hybrid between the 710 and the 110, and it can be a good option if you are looking for something in between. Now, if the most important thing for you is sound, our recommendation is to opt for the PartyBox 710. If you also pair this speaker with another, it doesn’t matter how big the party venue is, the music will sound.

However, as we always tell you, only you know what limitations you have and which speaker best fits your search priorities.
