twin laptops

It is really difficult to differentiate both devices from an aesthetic point of view. The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 3i have the same dimensions and a very similar weight (only 50 grams less for the IdeaPad 3 ).

It is appreciated that the two computers have a wide base, with a correct tactile area and (very important) have a numeric keypad.

Bigger screen?

Lenovo IdeaPad 3 vs Lenovo IdeaPad 3i

On paper yes, but we have to clarify it. The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 has a 15.6″ screen, slightly larger than the 15″ IdeaPad 3i. You will notice the difference if you place one laptop next to another, but it is not that it should take up a lot of time.

Image quality is also very close as both the IdeaPad 3 and IdeaPad 3i offer a resolution of 1920 x 1080 px. Oh, we forgot, they integrate anti-glare screens, which is always appreciated.

Internal Components: First Big Difference

This is where the path of both devices diverges and makes sense, among other things, the difference in price.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 and The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i integrate an Intel Core i5 processor.

It is also important to look at aspects such as storage, the IdeaPad 3 is also ahead with 512 GB of memory (which will always be somewhat less due to the basic installation: operating system, drivers…). If it seems little to you, in the two IdeaPads you can expand the memory up to 1 TB.

However, not all are differences. Both the IdeaPad 3 and the IdeaPad 3i have the same RAM memory.

The best graphics card?

Lenovo IdeaPad 3 vs 3i

At this point there are also differences between laptops.

Let’s see, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 mounts an Intel Iris Xe Graphics, while the IdeaPad 3i bets on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. Right now we can almost read your mind.

In this sense, it is the Lenovo IdeaPad 3i that mounts a better graphics card (we are talking about performance and support for video games), although at a general level, the IdeaPad 3 hardware allows it to process a greater amount of information at a higher speed.

It is therefore a difference in concept that you have to take into account. Graphics card or processor? What is worth more to you?

Operating system and autonomy

We continue advancing in this analysis. We have already covered the most important technical and hardware aspects. Now it’s time to talk about other sections such as the operating system.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 ships with Windows 11, while the IdeaPad 3i boots with Windows 10, but don’t worry, the IdeaPad 3i is compatible with Windows 11.

Let us now deal with what for us is one of the most important factors to take into account when choosing any portable device: autonomy.

Both the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 3i are very even when it comes to battery life. Both oscillate between eight and nine o’clock, although as always, all this will vary depending on how you use the device. Normally, companies tend to be very positive (sometimes too much) regarding the autonomy of their devices.

other functions

Lenovo IdeaPad 3i vs 3

We have already seen the essential information of both Lenovo laptops, but still, you may still have some doubt about which is the best option. Don’t worry: we have something else to offer you!

We highlight that the IdeaPad 3 integrates a backlit keyboard, which can be tremendously useful, especially in darker environments: the subway, the plane, the endless company conference…

The two computers have a bluetooth connection (version 5.0) and implement a security measure known as PrivacyShutter: a spectacular technology that consists of a plastic cap with which you can cover the webcam. It’s not ironic: no more stickers and sheets of tape. The best solution is the simplest.

Our opinion: What is the most profitable Lenovo?

Having thoroughly analyzed both devices, we have gathered enough information to make an informed assessment.

To everything mentioned here, we must add the price factor. The sixth-generation Lenovo IdeaPad 3 costs almost twice as much as the IdeaPad 3i, and we honestly don’t see a reason for that. It is true that the IdeaPad 3 has a better processor, but it does not offer much beyond that.

Therefore, we believe that the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 is the best option considering both performance and price.
