The world of video games has evolved a lot in recent years. We are not talking about a mere training with which to spend the afternoon, that too, but about a highly competitive world where gamers look for the best possible equipment to be above their rivals. Not to mention that the level of quality of video games is impressive.

This maxim can be applied to the genre of racing or simulator video games, where users prioritize an immediate response from their steering wheels above all else and that this transmits the most realistic sensations possible.

Following this line, we want to present two wheels from the Logitech company that seem identical at first glance, but that have important differences in terms of performance. They are the Logitech G29 and the Logitech G923.

Do not miss the following analysis if you want to find your future Logitech steering wheel,

What do we see with the naked eye?

Logitech G923 vs. G29

The answer to this question could be equality. We see how both flyers are practically identical. In fact, from a visual point of view, only the differences in the main logo on the steering wheel stand out. The Logitech G923 features the company logo, while the Logitech G29 sports the Play Station logo. On the other hand , the G29 has details in red while the G923 has them in blue.

In all other visual or material aspects, the G29 and G923 are completely identical. Both are made of aluminum and covered in high-quality leather. The steering wheel shaft, a key part for correct operation, is made of steel, which guarantees its resistance and reliability.

The same could be said of the pedals. Each pedalboard is made up of three pedals, which imitates the common arrangement of vehicles. In addition, both the G29 and the G923 have stainless steel pedals, which is very important since we are talking about parts that suffer continuous and very abrasive use.

More common ground

We have already mentioned before that there are numerous similarities between the two Logitech models. Next we will analyze two of the most important.

Both the Logitech G29 and the Logitech G923 have a 900º steering angle, which offers a lot of versatility to enjoy any driving style.

We must also highlight one of the main characteristics of Logitech steering wheels, such as the Force Feedback system, which transmits to the wheel and from there to your hands the sensations that you would feel in real life. Bumpy areas, lines on the road, curbs, everything can be experienced in the two Logitech models, although as we will see later, the Logitech G923 goes a little further.

Differences: Trueforce and compatibility

Logitech G29 vs. G923

It must be taken into account that the Logitech G923 is the evolution of the G29, which means that it has to incorporate improvements or new features.

One of the most important differences is in regards to Trueforce technology, which is present in the Logitech G923. This technology represents a significant improvement on the aforementioned Force Feedback, achieving greater detail in the vibrations transmitted by the steering wheel. At this point, the Logitech G923 gives more realistic sensations. However, despite this important novelty, you have to read the fine print. Not all games are compatible with Trueforce technology, in fact, we could say that the games in which this advantage can be taken advantage of are in the minority.

The next big difference is found in the compatibility of these devices, something that you should pay close attention to when choosing a steering wheel. What’s more, we would say that before looking at any other feature, you should pay attention to this.

The Logitech G29 can be used with the Play Station 3, 4 and 5, with a PC, but NOT with an Xbox console, so if you’re on the Microsoft side when it comes to console, discard this wheel immediately.

On the other hand, the Logitech G923 can be used both on Play Station (3, 4 and 5), on a PC (with Windows 10 or higher) and on Xbox.

What steering wheel are we left with?

We have already put on the table the most relevant characteristics of each model, so we can make a consistent decision. Several factors must be taken into account.

Let’s see, obviously if you have an Xbox, your wheel is the Logitech G923, since it is the only wheel that is compatible with this console. Little more can be said here.

Now suppose you have a PC or a Play Station (3, 4 or 5). Both steering wheels are compatible, which one to choose? It is true that the Logitech G923 offers greater compatibility and makes use of Trueforce technology (although we have already seen that its application is limited), but the rest of the features are the same as the Logitech G29.

Our advice is to listen to your pocket. If you want the tightest, highest quality at the best price, then the Logitech G29 is your ideal steering wheel. Now, if you prefer the latest steering wheel in your hands above all else and don’t mind paying a bit more, the Logitech G923 is the best option.
