If you have already tried the world of oil-free fryers, also known as air fryers, we are convinced that, like us, you have become hooked on it. The results you get quickly, with hardly any oil and without effort are incredible, although you have to know what to look for to choose the most suitable oil-free fryer for each one. Therefore, today we are going to compare two of the most popular models: Cosori Dual Blaze and Cecotec Cecofry Advance Double.

We already told you that, although both have the word “double” in their name, it is not for the same reason, and this can lead to initial confusion. In the case of Cosori, “Dual” refers to the double heating system it has, as it has resistances at the bottom and top of the fryer. For its part, the Cecofry is “Double” because it has two individual bowls so you can cook different foods, simultaneously or separately.

The maximum power of the fryers is another of the most substantial differences, although it must be taken into account that the Cecofry one needs more power because it cooks with two buckets. Regarding functions, it should be noted that the two oil-free fryers have 6 food cooking functions, but the Cosori Dual Blaze adds another 6 related to cooking techniques. Now, they also share some similarities, such as the one-hour timer, the temperature range (not exactly the same, but almost) or the possibility of turning off automatically.

The best way to check which one best suits what you are looking for is to analyze them in detail. So, if you want to know which oil-free fryer to choose, keep reading!

Two design proposals

Cecofry vs Cosori

At first glance, it is easy to see the differences between the two oil-free fryers. It is curious how the Cosori seems bigger, because it is taller, when, in reality, it weighs less than the Cecotec one. Both are sold in black, although the Cosori Dual Blaze is also available in white. Turning the fryer, we can see that the Cosori Dual Blaze has a cable almost twice as long as the Cecofry Advance Double, which can be a plus point if you don’t have a plug very close.

And, if we look at the screen, which is touch in both cases, we see that the Cecofry Advance Double has it located on the front, just above the buckets, and the Cosori Dual Blaze chooses to put it on the top, leaving the front ready. From a practical point of view, the screen like the Cosori fryer has is more comfortable, since it is closer to eye level.

Single or double bucket?

And, of course, one obvious difference is that the Cecofry Advance Double has two buckets, while the Cosori has only one. In fact, this is the most notable change between both fryers. With the Cecofry Advance Double it is possible to cook two different foods at the same time, while the Cosori Dual Blaze has more capacity in a single container, but you cannot diversify the time and temperature.

This means that the Cosori fryer has a capacity of 6.4 liters in a single bucket, while the Cecofry Advance Double has 4.5 liters in each bucket, for a total of 9 liters. In reality, the Cecofry fryer is more versatile to the extent that it can serve both smaller families who cook the main dish and the accompaniment at the same time, for example. But it also serves to organize a meal for more people, since you can use both buckets as if it were just one.

Heating technology, another point to take into account

Cosori vs Cecofry

The heating system is another of the differentiating aspects between the two fryers. The Cosori Dual Blaze has 360 ThermoIQ double resistance technology. That is, it incorporates a heat resistance at the top and another at the bottom, which makes the heat distribution more homogeneous on both sides. In this case, it is not necessary to preheat the fryer, unless indicated in the recipe in question.

On the other hand, the Cecofry Advance Double has the PerfectCook technology that Cecotec usually incorporates into all its air fryers. Basically, it is a heat circuit through which the heat is distributed homogeneously and goes outside, causing the entire surface of the bucket to be cooked equally.

Time and temperature distribution, manual or automatic

We continue to advance in our analysis and we reach a point where there are not so many differences. In either of the two fryers it is possible to regulate the time and temperature manually, by clicking on the corresponding icons on the touch screen. However, to make work easier, both have a timer that allows you to activate the fryer for a maximum of 1 hour.

And, regarding the temperature range, the Cosori allows cooking between 75º C and 205º C, while the Cecotec fryer reduces it to 80º C and 200º C, respectively. In practice, the difference is hardly noticeable.

On the other hand, in the Cecofry Advance Double, it is interesting to know that you can apply the same time and temperature to both trays, or modify it individually depending on the food you are cooking.

How many predefined functions do they have?

Cosori vs Cecotec

As it is possible to adjust the time and temperature manually, you can cook whatever you want inside the air fryers. However, both the Cosori Dual Blaze and the Cecofry Advance Double have a few pre-configured functions so that, when cooking certain foods, the estimated time and temperature for each one can be adjusted. In this sense, the advantage goes to the Cosori fryer. It has a total of 12 functions, of which 6 are for different foods, and the other 6 are for applying different cooking techniques and processes, such as reheating, keeping warm, roasting or baking.

For its part, the Cecofry Advance Double integrates 6 cooking modes, all of them for cooking food, but it does not include any of the additional functions that the Cosori does have. You could do them manually by regulating the time and temperature, but it is easier to press the button for each one and forget about looking for the parameters on your own.

Additional accessories

Continuing with the previous point, one of the functions that the Cosori Dual Blaze has is grilling. To do this, the fryer is equipped with 5 metal skewers, in addition to the metal grate that most oil-free fryers usually have. Therefore, the Cosori Dual Blaze is more versatile in terms of the variety of cooking methods and techniques it allows to execute. It also has a physical recipe book as part of the standard equipment, and we particularly love that the recipe books are kept on paper. In the case of the Cecofry Advance Double, it does not have this recipe book, which you can consult in the Cecotec app or on the website.

Which oil-free fryer is more worth it?

At this point, we only have to choose which oil-free fryer we would choose. The main advantage of the Cecofry Advance Double is the double bowl, which allows different cooking to take place simultaneously. And, in the case of the Cosori Dual Blaze, the most notable strength is its great versatility in terms of preconfigured functions and techniques. In addition, it has a capacity of more than 6 liters, which makes it a perfect fryer for larger families.

Therefore, if you have 2-3 people at home and you usually cook a main dish and a side dish, you may find the Cecofry Advance Double more practical, because you do not need as much capacity and you save time. On the other hand, if you usually cook for many people and prefer to have a fryer that has a greater variety of functions, the Cosori Dual Blaze is a good quality-price alternative, although it is somewhat more expensive than the Cecotec one. That being said, it’s only up to you to choose the oil-free fryer that best suits your needs.
