Since we first tried the air fryer, we admit that we can’t live without it. And, like us, many people who have discovered all its possibilities and, above all, the time it saves. This boom has meant that the brands that began to emerge in this market have evolved very quickly in a short time. An evolution that is reflected in models like the ones featured in this comparison: Cosori Dual Blaze vs Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone.

As a spoiler, we warn you that all that glitters is not gold. Seeing the word “dual” in both names, we tend to think that both oil-free fryers have a double bowl, but that is not the case. The Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone does have two independent buckets, but the Cosori Dual Blaze has a single basket. So, what does “dual” mean? In this case, it refers to the double heating system it has, which we will tell you about later.

That said, there are numerous differences between the two air fryers. The Cosori, for example, has a capacity of 6.4 liters, smaller than the 9.5 liter capacity of the Ninja. In this sense, each of its buckets has almost 5 liters of capacity. However, it has half the functions of the Cosori Dual Blaze, which has up to 12 programs. And, if we look at the timer and the temperature range, the Ninja Foodi is more versatile in both, because it can be programmed for up to 1 and a half hours and the thermal range is wider.

As for the functions they have, it is interesting to see that neither of the two air fryers requires prior preheating. And yet, both include the reheat function. On the other hand, only the Cosori fryer can be synchronized with a mobile app to further optimize its use, although both are equipped with a recipe book. As you can see, it is interesting to analyze in detail the performance of these oil-free fryers to see which one best suits what we are looking for. If you are interested in knowing, keep reading!

Aesthetics and design: weight matters

Cosori vs Ninja

We are not going to deny that neither of these two air fryers is precisely light. The Cosori Dual Blaze weighs more than 6 kilos, while the Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone is around 9. To be fair, it is normal for the Ninja fryer to be heavier because it has more capacity, but it has a drawback, which is that it is more voluminous. And therefore it is more difficult to store. And, in addition to the weight, there is quite a difference in the width of each fryer. To give you an idea, the Ninja fryer is almost twice as wide as the Cosori one, which can make it difficult to store.

From an aesthetic point of view, black prevails in both, but the Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone is adorned with gold details that give it a more sophisticated touch than the Cosori has.

More capacity, more power

Looking at the previous table, it is striking to see such a high power difference between the two oil-free fryers. However, the Ninja Foodi has a double bowl, so it is logical that its power is greater. In this sense, it is quite proportionate with respect to capacity. In fact, if we just look at the power that the Ninja has with a basket, it is 1200 watts, but each basket is about 4.8 kg in capacity.

And speaking of capacity, the Cosori Dual Blaze has a 6.4 liter bucket, while the Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone can hold up to 9.5 liters in total. The two buckets have the same capacity, approximately 4.8 kg each. Even so, it is always worth keeping in mind that the useful capacity is a little less.

In addition, the Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone allows you to cook independently in both bowls. That is, in this fryer we can make two preparations at the same time, while in the Cosori Dual Blaze we can only carry out one.

Heating and timer system

Ninja vs Cosori

Another interesting aspect to evaluate is the heating technology that each fryer has. In both cases, air circulation occurs 360º, so that the entire surface is cooked equally. However, the Cosori Dual Blaze has a small reinforcement, and that is that it has a double upper and lower resistance with which, with less consumption, more surface area is heated equally.

Regarding the possibility of programming the fryer without oil for a maximum time, both models allow it, although with some differences. The Cosori Dual Blaze can be programmed for a maximum of 60 minutes. On the other hand, the Ninja Foodi can be programmed for 90 minutes continuously.

Variety of predefined functions

As usual, both the Cosori and the Ninja are fryers that include a series of predefined programs, although there is a clear winner. The Cosori Dual Blaze has a total of 12 functions, compared to the 6 that the Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone has. As for food, both are capable of cooking, more or less, the same foods, which are what most oil-free fryers can cook. However, the Cosori has additional functions, such as defrosting or keeping warm. Of course, in neither of them is it necessary to preheat, so they do not have a specific function for this.

Regarding the range of temperatures that we can select, the victory goes to the Ninja fryer. This model allows you to choose temperatures between 40º C and 240º C, offering greater versatility than the Cosori, which ranges between 80º C and 205º C. This greater variety is due to the fact that it has functions such as gratin or dehydration, which require a very high and lowest temperature respectively.

Touch screen and mobile app

Cosori vs Ninja air fryer

We focus, now, on the most technological functionalities of air fryers. Both the Cosori and the Ninja have a touch screen with which they can select the cooking function, time or temperature. In the Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone, there are also two screens, one for each bucket, which can be synchronized or not.

However, only the Cosori fryer can be synchronized with a mobile app, VeSync, to take advantage of its use in the digital world as well. Through the app, it is possible to consult recipes, see if there are maintenance notices or ask questions that other users have. On the other hand, the Ninja fryer does not offer that possibility.

Which oil-free fryer is more interesting?

Now that you know what the differences and similarities are between the two air fryers, it’s time to choose which one to choose. To do this, we look at the price difference and, as we expected, the Ninja Foodi has a higher price. It must be taken into account that it has more capacity than the Cosori fryer, since it has 3 liters more. In addition, it has more power (in line with capacity) and a wider temperature range.

On the other hand, the Cosori Dual Blaze has a very interesting quality-price ratio for everything it offers. Its capacity is very good for a single-bowl airfyer, and the variety of functions allows you to cook practically anything. Aesthetically it is less attractive, but it has the possibility of synchronizing to an app, unlike its rival. However, the decision criterion that seems most important to us is the number of diners for which you usually cook, or if you regularly prepare combined dishes.

The Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone is an oil-free fryer best suited for large families, or for those who usually cook a main meal and a side dish, since they can take advantage of the two baskets for the same preparation or for two different ones. If you are not particularly interested in these two options, the Cosori Dual Blaze has a relationship between quality and price that we find difficult to beat, at least for the moment.
