The Xiaomi company has presented four new robot vacuum cleaners that are incorporated into its catalogue, within the E, S and X ranges. Broadly speaking, we could say that the E range is the most economical, but also the least technological, while the S and X ranges are more advanced, although there are important differences between each of their robots. The best way to check it is to see it and, therefore, we bring you this interesting comparison in which we will talk about the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum E12, S12, S10+ and X10.

All of them undoubtedly represent a leap in quality in the set of Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaners. Until now, the brand had opted to compete on price, giving up certain technological qualities more typical of a Roomba. However, the strategy is changing. Xiaomi no longer just wants to be a cheap brand; wants to be a company that offers a robot vacuum for every person.

Therefore, in this new range we find all kinds of robot vacuum cleaners. The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum E12, for example, is the simplest, because it is the only one of the three that does not move with a laser. This also makes it the most economical. On the other hand, among the three that do use lasers, there is one that also combines it with three-dimensional technology to identify objects, the S10+. And, if we look at the X10, we see that the particularity is the self-emptying base with which it is equipped.

In short, Xiaomi has managed to multiply its versatility by adding these four robot vacuum cleaners among which, to choose, you must know their differences. And we are going to tell you, below.

The aesthetic is Xiaomi brand

Xiaomi Robot E12 vs S12 vs S10+ vs X10

It cannot be denied that the four robot vacuum cleaners are Xiaomi. All of them maintain a very similar design, with white being the predominant color and with some orange notes in those that have laser technology, because the sensor on the top is orange on the inside. This laser also produces another difference in the height of the robots, since the E12, which is the only one that does not have it, is barely 8 centimeters high. For their part, the other three robots exceed 9 centimeters, even approaching 10.

In fact, from a design point of view, they are practically the same, except that the S12 has the two main buttons, CLEAN and HOME, at the bottom, instead of at the top like its three brothers.

Do they all have a self-emptying base?

No. In fact, the self-emptying station is exclusive to the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X10, which is equipped with a 2.5-liter capacity base. According to Xiaomi, this volume is enough for about 6 cleanings, although this will depend on the amount of dirt that the robot collects in each one. What is different from the rest is that it is the robot itself that deposits its waste on the base once its internal tank is full, which makes the robot more independent and, for you, more comfortable.

Power: same performance

Let’s see, now, if there are differences in terms of power. As we always tell you, robot vacuum cleaners that have about 2000 Pascals already offer very good performance. In this case, they all max out at 4000 Pascals, so you won’t have to worry about that at all. In addition, all four have the possibility of regulating the power in 4 levels, and this allows to optimize the battery life to the maximum.

Four robots, four autonomies

Another important aspect is the battery life, because robot vacuums are wireless and do not last forever. In this sense, let us tell you that the size of your home can significantly influence the minimum requirement you have in this regard. If you live in a very large house, you will need a robot with more autonomy.

That being said, the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum E12 has a 2600 mAh battery that lasts up to 110 minutes. The S12 has a capacity of 3200 mAh, and the duration amounts to 130 minutes. Instead, the S10+ raises the battery capacity to 5,200 mAh, just like the X10, although the former lasts for 120 minutes, while the X10 does up to 180 minutes. Of course, in all cases it is a maximum duration if the power were not increased; the moment we increase the power, the duration decreases.

Also, you should keep in mind that the S12, S10+ and X10 models have a “Recharge and resume” function. However, the Xiaomi E12 does not go to the base to recover the battery if it runs out.

Built-in scrubbing on all

The four Xiaomi robots can vacuum and scrub at the same time or separately, as you choose. To do this, they incorporate a main multifunction rubber brush, reinforced with a side one, and have a removable mop. However, the S10+ gains an advantage in this regard, because it has a double rotating mop with which it scrubs in which the difference in intensity is noticeable. The double mop increases the ability to remove complex stains.

On the other hand, in all three cases we can regulate the water flow in 3 levels, and this is always good because it saves water and does not excessively soak the soil.

What navigation system do you use?

We come to another important point in the purchase decision, the type of navigation. The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum E12 moves by combining detection sensors with a gyroscope. The gyroscope makes navigation somewhat neater than if you were just using sensors, but it doesn’t allow you to plan routes in advance or in an optimized way. At best, it moves in zig-zags or in orderly rows. It creates maps of space in real time, but it does not store or interactive maps.

On the other hand, the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S12, S10+ and X10 use lasers to move, and this technology does give them that precision that the E12 lacks. So they can create space maps, save them, and then edit them for smart space management. That is, choose in which room the robot starts, select the prohibited areas or change the cleaning order.

Object recognition, another identifying signal

It should be noted that only the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10+ incorporates 3D object identification technology, a system that allows it to recognize more different objects than other robots, include them on the map and avoid them. This technology, added to laser navigation, makes the S10+ the best performing robot when it comes to space recognition.

Remote control: are there differences?

No. All four of Xiaomi’s robot vacuums sync with Alexa and Google Home voice assistants, and all of them connect with Xiaomi’s Mi Home app. Therefore, control can be performed equally on all of them.

Xiaomi Robot Vacuum E12 vs S12 vs S10+ vs X10: Our conclusion

We have to say that we love the variety and versatility that Xiaomi has impregnated in these four robots. Far from designing the same robot with imperceptible variations, she has created four versions so that everyone can access one. In fact, we are going to summarize, now, who each of these four robot vacuum cleaners would be ideal for.

If you have a rather low budget limit and prefer to go for a cheap robot even if it is not the most advanced when it comes to navigation, the E12 is for you. On the other hand, if you want it to have a laser but you can’t spend that much money, the S12 is a good alternative. It does not have the same features as the other two laser robots, but it is more independent than the E12 and its price is affordable.

On the other hand, if you prefer to opt for technology and precision in navigation, the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10+ is the most appropriate because it combines two systems that allow it to recognize even your pets. Finally, if you are one of those who prefers to opt for comfort above all, the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X10 is the ideal robot to forget about everything. To empty the tank, to send it to the base to recharge the battery and to redirect it around the house.

In particular, the Xiaomi S10+ is the one with the best value for money for everything it includes, but this is just our opinion. As you can see, you just need to think about what your priorities are and, based on them, you can choose the most suitable Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaner.
