Main difference: the appearance

Amazfit GTR 3 vs. GTS 3

One of the most notorious differences between the GTS 3 and the GTR 3 has not been made to beg for much. In fact, with a quick glance at the photograph you can see what we are talking about.

Indeed, the first thing that catches our attention is the design that each watch presents.

The Amazfit GTS 3 is slightly lighter (24 grams), presenting slightly smaller dimensions than the Amazfit GTR 3. As a manual control system, both models have a rotating crown that makes it much easier to navigate the interface. However, the GTR 3 has another button in addition to the crown.

Focusing on the screen, the Amazfit GTS 3 features a 1.75″ square AMOLED screen, while the GTR 3 opts for a 139″ circular AMOLED screen. Regarding the body-screen ratio, it can be seen that the Amazfit GTS screen is larger, although visually it gives the impression of the opposite.

If we talk about resolution, here the Amazfit GTR 3 comes out on top, offering a resolution of 454 x 454 px.

We end the question of the image by talking about the colors in which each model is available. The Amazfit GTS 3 can be purchased in up to three different colors (Graphite Black, Terra Rosa, Ivory White). The Amazfit GTR 3, on the other hand, only offers two possibilities (Thunder Black, Moonlight Grey)

Autonomy: Amazfit GTR 3 takes advantage

Here is another difference between the two models. Yes, there is an asterisk. You will soon discover why.

The battery life of Amazfit watches is well above average and is, without a doubt, one of its strengths. Therefore, if you value autonomy above all else when choosing a smartwatch, pay attention.

Amazfit GTS 3 vs. GTR 3

It sounds, or rather reads, very well. Theoretically, both the GTS 3 and the GTR 3 reach a range of approximately twenty days. Theoretically, we insist, because the reality is far from these figures.

In normal use, the Amazfit GTS 3 lasts up to six days without needing a charge. However, here the GTR 3 has a big advantage, since under the same conditions it can double the battery life. So if you want autonomy, the Amazfit GTR 3 is the answer.

As for charging time, both watches need about two hours to complete a full charge.

Finally, we include in this section the immersion capacity of both smartwaches: identical. Both watches can be submerged up to 50 meters deep.

Internal benefits: many coincidences

The road is paved from now on, as we have already referred to the main differences between the GTS 3 and the GTR 3.

Both use the same operating system, Zepp, and have the same sensors when it comes to monitoring the constants. To mention a few, both the GTS 3 and the GTR 3 offer the possibility of measuring blood oxygen, heart rate and even stress levels.

This wide variety of possibilities are one of the attractions of the third generation of Amazfit. Also noteworthy, in the female sphere, is the ability of these smartwatches to monitor the menstrual cycle.

All these benefits must be thanked to the BioTracker PPG 3.0, present in both watches.

In other aspects such as exercise modes or sleep reporting, both the GTS 3 and GTR 3 match. Not much more to say.

Connectivity: same options

Amazfit GTR 3 vs. Amazfit GTS 3

One of the positive points of Amazfit and that is permeating strongly among its users – apart from its irresistible prices – is the possibility of enjoying all its functions on any phone, be it Android or IOS. The versatility achieved by these devices is enormous.

They also share weaknesses such as the inability to answer calls using both the GTS 3 and the GTR 3.

Another interesting option, present in both the GTS 3 and the GTR 3, is the option to configure certain aspects with the Alexa voice assistant. That is, make use of the smartwatch without having to use your fingers.

Other differences: NFC payments and music playback

However, here we have to break a spear in favor of the Amazfit GTR 3, since it has two very interesting options that are not found in the GTS 3. The first one is the possibility of making payments using NFC technology and the second being able to play music, an always interesting option since it can mean a completely different user experience.

Are the differences significant?

That is the main question that this article hovers over. After seeing each of the characteristics of both models, how do they influence when choosing between the GTS 3 and the GTR 3?

In our case we have it very clear. The Amazfit GTR 3 is the clear winner, since it offers greater autonomy, the possibility of making payments using NFC technology or playing music. That is to say, it improves in certain aspects to the GTS 3 and the price is almost the same.

Of course, if you are looking for the closest thing to an Apple Watch in terms of design, then the Amazfit GTS 3 is yours.
