If you are thinking about changing your tablet or buying a new one for the first time, you will surely want to know how to choose from the wide variety of options on the market. In this article, we are going to tell you what the differences and similarities are between the Galaxy Tab A8, Redmi Pad SE and Lenovo Tab M10 Plus tablets. All three belong to three brands with a very marked technological positioning, Samsung, Xiaomi and Lenovo.

As a summary, we will tell you that the Redmi Pad SE is one level below the Galaxy Tab A8 and the Lenovo Tab M10 Plus in terms of technology and sophistication. This is the reason why it is a little cheaper, plus Xiaomi is a fairly affordable brand in general. The processor is one of the reasons behind this difference in performance, although we must recognize that none of the three processors are bad.

As far as the screen is concerned, all three are quite similar in size, although it is true that the Lenovo is the one that offers the best screen resolution and more intense brightness. Furthermore, although all three have a rear and a front camera, the Lenovo tablet is the one with a higher resolution in the front camera. And, when it comes to the battery, we have to say that the three tablets are quite equal in terms of battery capacity and autonomy. And, although they all have fast charging, the Lenovo tablet is the one that takes the least time to charge.

As you can see, although they are three very similar models, it is worth looking at their differences to decide which one to choose. And that’s what we’re going to do next.

A design with the same aesthetic line

Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 vs Redmi Pad SE vs Lenovo Tab M10 Plus

When we think of a tablet, a very specific image comes to mind. And, between the three that star in this review, the differences are not many. All of them have quite similar dimensions and weight, around half a kilo, and have a very similar screen layout. In fact, the thickness of the bezel is very similar, and the screen has a size that, although not the same, we cannot say that the difference is very noticeable.

Being completely transparent, the Xiaomi tablet is the one with the largest screen, 11 inches. However, Lenovo and Samsung tablets follow very closely, with 10.6 and 10.5 inches respectively. When it comes to screen resolution, the advantage goes to the Lenovo Tab M10 Plus, which has a slightly higher resolution. This also makes it seem like it shines brighter, even though it has the same brightness capacity as the Redmi Pad SE.

Finally, it should be noted that one of the most relevant aesthetic differences is the color in which you can choose the tablet. Likewise, none of them include a pencil in their standard equipment, although you can buy it separately.

The processor, a key difference

The component that most influences the performance of tablets is the processor. So that we understand each other, it is the internal brain of the device, and the satisfaction that its use brings us when opening various applications depends on it. Each tablet has a different processor. The Galaxy Tab A8 has a Unisoc processor, while the Redmi Pad SE opts for Snapdragon and the Lenovo, for MediaTek.

In general, they are quite similar processors with similar performance. Still, the Snapdragon offers a slightly faster download speed, and takes less time to upload files. In addition, it is the one with the most updated operating system of the three, and that always guarantees a little more reliability.

Are there differences between the cameras?

Lenovo Tab M10 Plus vs Galaxy Tab A8 vs Redmi Pad SE

Honestly, not many. All three tablets have an 8 MP rear camera (in the case of the Lenovo, with autofocus). The main difference is in the front camera. On Samsung and Xiaomi tablets, it is 5 MP, while on Lenovo, it is 8 MP. Therefore, the Lenovo Tab M10 Plus has the same resolution on both cameras. How is this noticeable? In that the image resolution on the Lenovo tablet when making video conferences is higher than on the other two tablets.

The battery, very similar in the three tablets

One of the most common doubts when choosing a tablet is the battery life, but you already know that it is quite difficult to make an exact estimate, because it depends on many factors. Therefore, it is more interesting to look at the battery capacity, which can give us an idea of which one will be best optimized. That said, all three have a battery capacity of around 7000-8000 mAh.

When it comes to fast charging, there is a more important difference. All tablets have a charger that allows relatively fast charging, although here the advantage goes, again, to Lenovo. The Tab M10 Plus is compatible with a 20-watt charger, being the fastest of the three. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 is compatible with a 15-watt charger, while the Redmi Pad SE’s charger is 10-watt.

Technological sensors and connectivity

One of the similarities that the three tablets share is that they all have a facial recognition system to unlock the screen. However, the same does not happen with the fingerprint sensor. Apart from this, the three tablets have the same sensors, the usual ones in this type of device.

On the other hand, we also did not find differences in the audio system and the microphone. All tablets have four speakers compatible with Dolby Atmos, so the quality with which you can watch any video is the same. And finally, it should be noted that they are compatible with the same version of WiFi and Bluetooth.

Which tablet is more worth it?

Before deciding which tablet to choose, it is important to check the price difference. A priori, the Lenovo and Samsung tablets are in a more equal price range, while the Xiaomi tablet is a little cheaper. In fact, we think that the quality-price ratio of the Redmi Pad SE is really good, since we must not forget that, even if just barely, it is the one with the largest screen, and its processor is not bad at all.

However, we are looking at three models that are very similar to each other in most features. Samsung and Lenovo have a slightly higher corporate reputation than Xiaomi, and that may generate more trust among some users. This may be another reason why Xiaomi competes by lowering the price a little, without this implying a decrease in the tablet’s capabilities.

But, if we had to choose one, it would probably be the Lenovo Tab M10 Plus, because it has a higher resolution front camera and because the screen resolution is a little higher. However, any of the three tablets will more than satisfy your needs.
