Whenever Samsung launches a new model of any of its technological devices, we are eager to see what new features it has introduced compared to the previous generation. In this case, we focus on comparing two of the most recent tablets in its catalog: the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+. On the surface, the FE+ model seems more advanced than the standard, but what really are their differences?
One of the most important has to do with the size of the screen, which is 1.5 inches larger on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+. Consequently, it has more resolution. We have to admit that we have found more differences than we expected, because we thought they would remain in the size of the screen. However, battery capacity is another aspect that varies between the two tablets.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ lasts about two hours longer than its little sister, although this depends a lot on how you use the battery and how much you optimize it. Additionally, the FE+ has a dual rear camera, a rare feature for tablets. Taking these differences into account and looking at their similarities, is the price difference justified? Is it worth betting on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+? We answer these questions below.

The screen, one of the main differences
It was expected that the size of the screen, LCD in both cases, would be one of the main differences between the two tablets in the series, and so it is. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE has a 10.9-inch screen, while the FE plus has a 12.4-inch screen. The plus model has a size more similar to that of a computer, and may be more comfortable for those who use it quite frequently. Consequently, it has better resolution than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9. At the design level, we highlight that the two tablets include the S-Pen, Samsung’s smart pen, in their standard equipment.
Same processor and operating system
Just as the screen is one of the most important elements in a tablet, the processor is the key internal part. And, in this case, there are no differences between the two tablets we are analyzing. Both have the Exynos 1380 and are based on the Android 13 operating system. It is one of the most updated processors that Samsung has in the latest models, and the performance it offers, especially in terms of graphic design, is very interesting.
As for storage , the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ has a larger RAM size. Furthermore, in both cases it is possible to expand the capacity with a MicroSD card. And finally, both tablets have a dual SIM.
Battery capacity, another difference
Knowing how long the battery lasts is another of the questions that users tend to be most interested in. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE has an 8000 mAh battery, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ has a 10,090 mAh battery. In terms of time, the difference is more approximate, because it depends on how much we optimize the use of the applications. However, to give you an idea, the FE+ lasts about two hours longer than its little sister.
The dual camera, a novelty in tablets
Now, we look at the set of cameras that the two tablets have. Normally, tablets usually have a front and a rear camera. In fact, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE has a 12 MP front camera and an 8 MP rear camera. However, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ has a dual rear camera, with two 8 MP lenses each. This is not just a difference with respect to the other Samsung tablet, it is that it is a rare element in the world of tablets in general.
Sensors and connectivity
The two Samsung Galaxy tablets have the same sensor equipment, consisting of an accelerometer, a fingerprint sensor, a gyroscope, a geomagnetic sensor, a hall sensor and a luminosity sensor. On the other hand, they lack compatibility with NFC technology, so you won’t be able to make contactless payments with them. And, when it comes to connectivity, both tablets support Bluetooth 5.3 and WiFi 6.
The first Samsung tablets with certified resistance
As announced by the company itself, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE and FE+ are the first from the brand to have the IP68 resistance level. This index determines their ability to resist specks of dust or splashes of water, and they have the highest level.
Come on, if you usually go to the beach with a tablet, these models are ideal for it…
Is it worth opting for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+?
This is the big question that users have when considering which of these two Samsung tablets to buy. It is important that we look at the price, which is higher in the FE+. The economic difference may vary, but the truth is that, seeing all the differences that exist, it seems to us that it is justified. That is, the screen is not the only difference. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ is a tablet with a larger capacity battery, a dual rear camera and more storage memory than the Tab S9 FE. We think there are enough differences to justify the higher price.
Now, is it worth it in all cases? Depends. If you already have the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE, we do not consider it worth making a new investment for the plus model, unless you absolutely need a larger screen. On the other hand, if you don’t have either and you can afford it financially, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ has better features.
But, as we always tell you, the last word depends only on you.
