If you usually use tablets and are thinking about renewing yours, you will surely have seen the three models that we analyzed in this comparison. All of them are the most recent tablets from leading brands, although not all of them have the same price or the same features. We are talking about the Xiaomi Pad 6, Lenovo Tab P12 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE tablets. Do you want to know how they differ and which of the three best suits what you are looking for?

For now, we will tell you that only two of them include, in the standard equipment, the pencil, the Lenovo Tab P12 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE. In the case of the Xiaomi Pad 6, the Xiaomi Smart Pen must be purchased separately. Another important difference between them is the size of the screen, and here it is the Lenovo Tab P12 that leads its rivals. It is almost two inches longer than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE, a fairly important difference in a tablet. In fact, the Lenovo model is almost like a small laptop.

The processor is another of the components that we should pay more attention to, because the internal performance of the tablet depends on it. In this case, each tablet has a different processor, although, in practice, it is the Samsung tablet that offers the best data processing. Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 is the only one of the three tablets that has the IP68 resistance level, which means it is dust and water resistant.

To know in detail all their differences and be able to decide which one is more interesting for you, we encourage you to continue reading our review. Let’s go there!

Size does matter

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE vs Xiaomi Pad 6 vs Lenovo Tab P12

When we talk about tablets, size does matter. And, in this case, it is one of the differentiating aspects between the three protagonists of the review. The Xiaomi Pad 6 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE have practically the same screen size, around 11 inches.

On the other hand, the Lenovo Tab P12 has a 12.7-inch screen, a difference that is very noticeable. Almost to the point that the Lenovo tablet looks like a small laptop. The drawback is that it is heavier than the other two, but if you like large screens, it is your alternative. In addition, it is the one with the highest resolution of all, although, curiously, it is not the brightest.

In addition to size, tablets can be purchased in different colors. The one that offers the most color variety is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE, which can be purchased in 4 colors. For its part, the Xiaomi Pad 6 is available in 3, while the Lenovo Tab P12 can only be purchased in gray.

Finally, it should be noted that the Xiaomi Pad 6 does not have the Xiaomi Smart Pen included as standard, but you must buy it separately if you want it. On the other hand, Lenovo and Samsung tablets do include the pen in their equipment.

What processor do they have?

In case you didn’t know, the processor is the element that determines the overall performance of any electronic device. In this case, each tablet has a different processor, and it is interesting to analyze them together. The Xiaomi Pad 6 has the Snapdragon 870, the Lenovo Tab P12 has the MediaTek Dimensity 7050, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE has the Exynos 1380. The truth is that the perception of performance may vary depending on what applications you usually use.

However, Lenovo and Samsung tablets are the ones that, in general, have the best performance, especially when it comes to processing graphics. On the other hand, the fact that the three processors have the Android 13 operating system is another example of how competitive they are with each other.

Battery life and capacity, under review

We continue analyzing the most important aspects of the three tablets, and now we look at the battery. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE has the “worst” battery, 8000 mAh and 15W fast charging. Note that you can buy a 45-watt charger, but you will have to do so separately.

It is followed by the Xiaomi Pad 6, whose battery has 8840 mAh and a fast charge of 33 watts. And, first of all , the Lenovo Tab P12 is the tablet with the highest capacity battery, 10090 mAh. Fast charging is 30 watts, so, putting everything on a balance, it is the one that offers the longest duration under equal conditions.

What are the cameras like?

Tablets have a front camera and a rear camera, although, unlike smartphones, it is not the functionality we pay most attention to. However, a curious situation occurs in this sense. The front camera is 8 MP on the Xiaomi tablet, 13 MP on the Lenovo tablet and 12 MP on the Samsung tablet.

On the other hand, the rear camera is 13 MP in the first one, and 8 MP in the Samsung and Lenovo tablets. That is, the Xiaomi Pad 6 gives more importance to the rear camera, while Samsung and Lenovo prioritize the front camera, given that tablets are usually used to make video conferences quite regularly.

Microphones, speakers and sensors

Another aspect that we tend to pay a lot of attention to is how many microphones, speakers and sensors each tablet has. In this case, both the Xiaomi and Lenovo tablets have 4 speakers, which are reduced to 2 on the Samsung tablet. As for microphones, there are 4 on the Xiaomi Pad 6, and 1 on the other two tablets. However, it is more common to use speakers rather than microphones.

Regarding the sensors, they have those that most tablets usually incorporate. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE also has an additional fingerprint sensor.

Connectivity and resistance

Lenovo Tab P12 vs Xiaomi Pad 6 vs Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE

We ended up talking about the differences in connectivity and resistance. In the first case, the truth is that there are no major variations. All tablets are compatible with Bluetooth (in subsequent versions) and WiFi 6, and do not include the possibility of making contactless payments because they do not support NFC technology. Likewise, all three tablets have USB type C ports.

However, in terms of resistance, there is a special mention for Samsung. The Galaxy Tab S9 FE is the only one of the three tablets that has the IP68 resistance level. That is, it has a maximum degree of tolerance to water and dust, which makes it a great option if you want to take it to the beach or the pool.

Which tablet do we end up with?

Now we only have to decide which of the three tablets is most interesting to us. To do this, we have to look, above all, at the price, and we see a clear conclusion. Xiaomi and Lenovo tablets have a fairly similar price, but Samsung’s is around 40% more expensive.

It is true that it has a high-end processor and its performance is excellent. However, we do not see so much difference with the Lenovo tablet to justify that price variation. It is more recent, but, in terms of functionalities, they are quite equal. For its part, the Xiaomi Pad 6 is a very interesting tablet in terms of quality and price, but it is one step behind the Lenovo and Samsung tablets due to the difference in processor.

In general, we believe that the Lenovo Tab P12 is a tablet with a very affordable price for the features it offers. We must not forget that it is the one with the largest screen and the largest capacity battery. In short, think about which aspects you give the most importance to and, based on them, choose the tablet that best suits you.
