Smartwatch brands are increasingly choosing to diversify their product line. Thus, instead of only offering high-end smartwatches with more advanced features, they also have lines of more affordable smartwatches. Today we want to compare three of the cheapest Amazfit smart watches, to identify their differences and which one is more worth it. We are talking about the Amazfit Bip 5, Amazfit Bip 3 Pro and Amazfit GTS 4 Mini.
A priori, we already see that they are smartwatches belonging to two different ranges, and that makes us think that the Amazfit Bip probably have more similarities with each other than with the GTS 4 Mini. However, we already told you that this is not the case. In some aspects, such as the water resistance of smartwatches, the Amazfit Bip 3 Pro and the GTS 4 Mini are closer to each other. On the other hand, there are other aspects, such as the number of sports modes they include, in which the closeness occurs between the Amazfit Bip 5 and the GTS 4 Mini.
Of course, it’s not all differences. The three smartwatches share more similarities than we initially thought. This is the case, for example, of the incorporation of the Biotracker sensor, typical of the brand, and with which we can measure several metrics at the same time. Regarding compatibility with other devices, it should be noted that it is the same in all three cases. Although, in this sense, it must be taken into account that not all of them have the same integration functionalities. In fact, only the Bip 5 and the GTS 4 Mini have the Alexa assistant integrated.
The best way to see which of the three smartwatches best suits what you are looking for is to analyze them in depth. Join us and keep reading the review for it!

What aesthetic differences are there?
The design is one of the first things we look at when we compare several devices of the same type, and the main difference we see in this regard is the size. The Amazfit Bip 5 is the largest watch of the three and yet it is the lightest in weight. Where we notice this size difference the most is in the screen, which is 1.91 inches on the Bip 5, compared to 1.69 and 1.65 inches on the Bip 3 Pro and GTS 4 Mini respectively.
All three screens are touch screens, although it is fair to highlight the excellent resolution of the Amazfit GTS 4 Mini screen. Although it is smaller than the Bip 5, it has a slightly higher resolution, which is appreciated, especially when we are outdoors. This is because, while the Amazfit Bip has a TFT screen, the GTS 4 Mini’s screen is AMOLED.
Finally, as for the colors in which they are available, all of them can be purchased in several different ones, almost always with pastel and matte tones.
Two clear levels in sports performance
One of the reasons why users buy smartwatches is to monitor and improve their sports activity. Therefore, it is very interesting that we look at the differences that exist in this sense between our three protagonists. The first thing we want to tell you is that just because they are cheaper, they are not less versatile in terms of the sports they can monitor. They may offer simpler reports than high-end watches, but no worse quality.
That said, there are two big levels when it comes to sports modes and intelligent sports recognition. The Amazfit Bip 5 and Amazfit GTS 4 Mini have more than 120 integrated sports modes, and are capable of intelligently recognizing up to 7 sports. On the other hand, the Amazfit Bip 3 Pro has 61 sports modes, half, and cannot perform automatic recognition.
We have to make special mention of water sports, because there is one thing that has surprised us a lot . Both the Amazfit Bip 3 Pro and the Amazfit GTS 4 Mini have a water resistance of 5 ATM, which means they can be submerged up to 50 meters deep. However, it is curious that the Amazfit Bip 5, despite being more recent than the Bip 3 Pro, does not have the same resistance. In this case, it “only” has the IP68 level, so it is not the best smartwatch to wear if you are swimming.
Are there updates to health metrics?
Yes, there are. To be fair, when it comes to health measurement there are fewer differences between the three smartwatches, but there are some that are worth considering. For example, all three models have Amazfit’s exclusive BioTracker sensor that allows you to measure stress level, heart rate and blood oxygen saturation at the same time. However, the Amazfit GTS 4 Mini has the most updated version, and is somewhat more accurate than its two rivals.
Otherwise, the truth is that they are quite even. All of them allow you to control the hours of sleep and its quality, as well as the menstrual cycle or even if there are abnormalities in the heart rate. The only thing they don’t measure is the number of floors that the steps you take would be equivalent to, because they don’t have an altimeter for it.
The battery is one of the most balanced points
The three smartwatch batteries have a very similar capacity, 300, 280 and 270 mAh respectively. Additionally, they take about two hours to fully recharge. However, they do not have exactly the same duration, although you already know that this depends on other external factors. What we can tell you is that the Amazfit GTS 4 Mini is the one that takes the cake when it comes to autonomy, especially in the energy saving mode, in which it can last up to 45 days. If we use it as a normal watch, it lasts about 15 days, which is not bad at all.
For its part, the Amazfit Bip 3 Pro lasts about two weeks, while the Bip 5 has about 10 days of autonomy in normal use. On the other hand, the Bip 3 Pro does not have a power saving mode, unlike the Bip 5.
Let’s talk about technology and connectivity
Another point in which we have perceived some differences to take into account is the technology section. The three smartwatches allow you to answer phone calls, manage SMS, control music, set the alarm, check the weather, etc. However, only the Amazfit Bip 5 and the GTS 4 Mini have the Alexa voice assistant integrated. The difference is that the Bip 5 does have a speaker, allowing Alexa to respond to it, while the GTS 4 Mini does not have a built-in speaker.
As for compatibility with other devices, all of them can be synchronized as long as it is with devices Android 7.0 and higher, or iOS 12.0 and higher. On the other hand, the three smartwatches can be synchronized with the Zepp app, and are based on that operating system, although the Bip 5 updates to the Zepp OS 2.0 operating system. However, we cannot say that there are big differences in this aspect. Finally, the Amazfit Bip 5 and GTS 4 Mini are compatible with Bluetooth 5.2, while the Bip 3 Pro is compatible with Bluetooth 5.0.
Which affordable Amazfit smartwatch is most recommended?
As always, it depends on your preferences and budget. In reality, any of the three can be purchased for less than 100 euros, so, in this case, budget is not the most important criterion. The Amazfit Bip 3 Pro is the most basic of the three, although it is also the cheapest, and can be an option if you are looking for maximum savings. However, we recommend opting for the Bip 5 or the GTS 4 Mini, which are more complete smartwatches for any of their functions.
To choose between the two, several factors must be taken into account. The Amazfit GTS 4 Mini has no rival when it comes to autonomy, and is usually a great alternative for people who practice outdoor sports. Not only because of the autonomy, but also because it has a higher level of water resistance than the Bip 5 and has a more advanced BioTracker sensor.
For its part, the Amazfit Bip 5 draws our attention the most because of how light it is, and because it is the most complete in terms of additional technological features. Perhaps this is a better option for indoor sports, since it is not designed to be exposed to excessive rain. In any case, the three smartwatches are a good alternative for those looking for a practical and versatile smartwatch, but at a good price.
