Our favorite! Amazfit GTS 4 Screen: 1.75 inches |
Nice design! Fitbit Sense 2 Screen: 1.6 inches |
Brand quality! Apple Watch SE 2 Screen: 1.78 inches |
Choosing a smartwatch is increasingly complicated because brands continue to launch models that are very similar to each other, making the decision difficult. Therefore, we are always looking for even the slightest difference to help you choose the one that best suits your tastes, needs and priorities. Today, we compare three mid-range smartwatches among which we have a clear favorite: Amazfit GTS 4, Fitbit Sense 2 and Apple Watch SE 2.
One of the things they have in common is that they are all designed with a sports orientation, although, to be honest, the performance of the Amazfit GTS 4, in that regard, is significantly superior to that of its two rivals. The Fitbit, on the other hand, is the one we like the most for health monitoring, thanks to its two ECG and cEDA sensors, which provide very precise information.
And the Apple Watch? It is the one with the largest screen, but it falls behind when it comes to sensors. In fact, we are surprised that it does not have a sensor to control blood oxygen saturation, one of the most common in any smartwatch today. The good? It is still an Apple smartwatch, excellence assured.
Below, we show you a detailed analysis so that you have a clearer idea about the differences between these three smartwatches and you can choose the one that best fits what you are looking for. Keep reading!

All three opt for the square screen
The three smartwatches we have chosen in this comparison have a square screen instead of round, although there are differences between them. The first thing we want to tell you is that, in the Apple Watch SE 2, two sizes are available, 40 and 44 mm. We have chosen the 44 mm one, and the specifications you see in the table correspond to that model. However, you should know that there is a smaller one, practically the same size as the Fitbit Sense 2.
That said, it should be noted that the Amazfit GTS 4 screen is AMOLED, while those of the Fitbit and Apple Watch are OLED. Are there many differences? Not really, except that the Amazfit screen is a little brighter and looks better when we play outdoor sports. In addition, it has a somewhat higher resolution, although the variation is not much. And, in terms of size, the screens of the Amazfit and the Apple Watch SE 2 are the largest, at 1.7 inches, compared to the Fitbit Sense 2, which is 1.6 inches.
What do we know about the autonomy of each watch?
To tell the truth, we expected to have more complete information in this regard in the case of Fitbit and Apple Watch watches. Roughly speaking, the one that stands out the most in the battery section is the Amazfit GTS 4. Not only because it has the largest battery capacity of all, but because it is, by far, the one that achieves the most autonomy. In standard use mode, it can last up to 8 days, longer than the Fitbit’s 6 days (hopefully it lasts a little less for us), and the Apple Watch SE 2’s 18 hours.
And, if we look at the battery saving mode, the Amazfit GTS 4 increases up to 16 days. Instead, the Apple Watch SE 2 can extend its battery for 1-2 days, but for that to happen, we would practically have to use it only as a watch. Finally, the Fitbit Sense 2 does not have a specific battery saving mode. What the three models do share is that the charging time is approximately two hours.
We compare sports performance
One of the main motivations why many people decide to buy a smartwatch is for their sports training. And, therefore, it seems important to us to analyze how each smartwatch behaves in this regard. In general, we would say that the Fitbit Sense 2 is the least designed for the sports field, because it seems to us that it is more focused on health (we’ll talk about that later). And, between the Amazfit GTS 4 and the Apple Watch SE 2, we would stay with the Amazfit.
The Apple Watch SE 2 has greatly improved its sports measurement capabilities compared to the first generation, there is no doubt about that. However, although it does not specify how many sports modes it has, it does not match the versatility offered by the Amazfit GTS 4 in this regard, with 154 sports modes. In addition, it intelligently recognizes 8 sports modes.
And, when it comes to water sports, all three smartwatches have the same resistance: 5 ATM. Or, in other words, they can dive up to 50 meters deep, so you can practice swimming without a problem. If you want to practice other sports such as diving, then you will have to opt for 10 ATM models.
And which one stands out more in health features?
In this aspect, the three smartwatches are somewhat more equal, although we would stick with the Fitbit Sense 2. We really like the performance offered by its ECG and cEDA sensors. The first performs a function similar to that of an electrocardiogram, and allows exhaustive control of the heart rate and the detection of anomalies in this regard. And, the cEDA sensor is a skin electrical conductance sensor. Basically, it is designed for more comprehensive monitoring of stress levels. In addition, the Fitbit Sense 2 has a skin temperature sensor, an optical heart rate sensor and other more common sensors, such as blood oxygen saturation measurement.
For its part, the Amazfit GTS 4 is not bad in terms of health either, especially we highlight the BioTracker 4.0 sensor. Thanks to it, we can have simultaneous and constant information about heart rate, blood oxygen saturation and stress level. And, regarding the Apple Watch SE 2, we need it to include a blood oxygen saturation sensor, quite common in current smartwatches.
What devices are they compatible with?
Now, we give you a little insight into the compatibility of the three smartwatches with other devices, in case you want to synchronize them to play music or respond to messages and calls. In fact, in this sense, all three incorporate a microphone and speaker, which allows them to “communicate” with the integrated voice assistant.
That said, the Amazfit GTS 4 and Fitbit Sense 2 can be synchronized with both iOS and Android devices, although with different versions. On the other hand, the Apple Watch SE 2 is designed for the Apple environment, so it is only compatible with iOS.
Which smartwatch has the best quality-price ratio?
After checking what the differences and similarities are between the three smartwatches, we have our decision quite clear in this case. Although, as we always tell you, our opinion is not universal, and the choice you make will depend on what your preferences are.
From our point of view, the smartwatch with the best quality-price ratio is the Amazfit GTS 4. It is the cheapest of all and, however, the most versatile in terms of sports performance. In fact, it is the one we recommend the most for practicing outdoor sports, since its screen is brighter and has more autonomy than its rivals. And, in health functions, it is not far behind either. Although, if the main use you are going to make of the smartwatch has to do with health, in that case, the Fitbit Sense 2 can be a good alternative.
Does this mean that the Apple Watch SE 2 is not a good smartwatch? Not at all. In fact, the improvement over the first generation is clear, and if you move in the Apple ecosystem, it is a great option. However, it seems to us that the Amazfit GTS 4 offers more versatility for less price. But, whatever your decision, it is surely the right one!
