Shaving is part of the daily routine of many people from time to time. Therefore, it is important to choose the razor we use well, and make sure that our skin will not suffer excessively. Especially, those who shave every two or three days. If this is your case, we encourage you to read this comparison between four models of Philips electric shavers that are a great investment in health: the 9000, 7000, 5000 and 3000 series.

As you can imagine, not all have the same technology or the same price. Throughout this comparison, we are going to tell you what their most relevant differences are so that you know which one to choose. The Philips Shaver Series 3000 is the most basic of all, but also the cheapest. Starting with the 5000 model, the shaving system changes, and Philips opts for SteelPrecision blades instead of PowerCut.

On the other hand, the 7000 and 9000 series are the only ones that are complemented by the use of a mobile app, and they are also the ones that incorporate the most accessories. Above all, the Philips Shaver Series 9000, which is the only one of the four that comes equipped with a beard styler. However, these are just some of the differences, and it is convenient to know them all to decide which one best suits what you are looking for. Do you want to find out? We’ll tell you then. Change in design from 5000

Philips Shaver Series 9000 vs 7000 vs 5000 vs 3000

The aesthetic line is quite similar in the four electric shavers, following corporate guidelines that indicate that the four models are from Philips. All can be purchased in black, and have very similar dimensions, ending in an elongated handle that makes the grip more ergonomic. The only thing that changes in the Philips Shaver Series 3000 compared to successive models is the design of the head.

On the 3000 model, the head is completely integrated into the body of the shaver. However, in the 5000, 7000 and 9000 models we see that the head is more separated from the rest of the body, appearing to be a different piece. This gives it much more presence and visibility, because it forces us to distinguish it more clearly than in the 3000 model. A decision that may have a further background, and is to physically demonstrate a change that occurs internally, as we’ll see.

The shaving system evolves

Philips Shaver 5000 vs 7000 vs 9000 vs 3000

In line with the point above, it’s interesting to see how shaving technology changes between the Philips Shaver Series 3000 and the other three. The 3000 model is equipped with the 27 PowerCut blade system, self-sharpening blades that improve precision compared to the Power Touch system.

However, the Philips Shaver Series 5000, 7000 and 9000 evolve to the Steel Precision mechanism, whose blades are even more precise than those of the 3000 model.

The Philips Shaver Series 5000 and 7000 have 45 blades, but the Philips 9000 brings the number up to 72. In fact, the system it has is Double Steel Precision, which makes shaving even more effective.

The same happens with the heads, which go from being pivoting in 5 directions in the Philips 3000, to being fully 360º flexible heads in the three successive models. In this way, they are able to fully follow the contour of the face and adapt to the shape of the face much more perfectly.

Battery: fast charging is the key

Regarding the battery, it should be noted that all Philips electric shavers have an autonomy of one hour, and take another 60 minutes to fully recharge. However, the Philips Shaver 7000 and 9000 have a quick charge system, which allows you to have enough charge for a quick shave in 5 minutes.

Different level of technology

Philips Shaver 9000 vs 7000 vs 5000 vs 3000

One of the differences that justifies the very different price range between the four Philips electric shavers is the degree of technology that each model has. The 9000, 7000 and 5000 series include features within what Philips calls SkinIQ technology, a system with which the shaver detects and recognizes every type of movement. The Philips Shaver Series 3000 does not have this system, being the simplest of the four.

In the case of the three shavers that do have it, there are important differences. For example, the 5000 model only has a power adapter sensor with which the shaver adjusts to the thickness of the beard continuously. T he Shaver Series 7000 adds a motion control sensor, so it tells you how to optimize movement for more efficiency, and SkinGlide coating to reduce friction. In the case of the 9000 model, add to all this a pressure control sensor, which tells you if you are applying the right pressure.

In addition, the 5000, 7000 and 9000 series shavers have a screen where you can see different light indicators, such as the battery, the error indicator or the motion control. In the case of the 3000 model, it does not have a screen as such, but only has the battery level indicator.

Finally, another difference from a technological point of view is that only the 9000 and 7000 shavers can be synchronized with the Philips GroomTribe app. Thus, through the smartphone, you can see recommendations for improvement, consult the history of previous shaves and check the suggestions and updates of the app.

Wet and dry use

Another of the similarities that the four electric shavers share is that they can be used wet and dry, so they are ideal for any skin type. In fact, you can use any foam without the heads and blades losing efficiency.

Philips Shaver Series 9000 vs 7000 vs 5000 vs 3000: Which electric shaver has the best value for money?

Once all the characteristics of the four shavers have been analyzed, it is time to decide which one seems most appropriate to us. You already know that this depends on the preferences that each one has, although we are going to give you our opinion. If you want to go for a more advanced shaver, the best value for money is the Philips Shaver Series 7000, the main difference from the 9000 is that it lacks the beard styler and pressure control, but it has everything else.

On the other hand, if you don’t want to face such a high budget, we would recommend the Philips Shaver Series 5000. Within the lower budget range, we are more convinced by the SteelPrecision blade set than by the PowerCut. In addition, it has a quick charge and folding trimmer, which increases its versatility with respect to the 3000 series.

That said, it’s only up to you to decide which one you choose, although you can rest easy, because all of them have the Philips quality guarantee.
